Susan Adlis Oven, age 88, passed March 1, 2012 in Opelika, Alabama. She was born November 29, 1923 in Forest City, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Helen Adlis. She was in charge of the finishing department of her brother Charles' clothing manufacturing plant near Eagle Rock. She also lived in Binghamton, NY and Clifton Forge before moving to Opelika, AL in 1999 to be near her son. In addition to her parents, Susan was predeceased by her loving husband of 47 years, Joseph F. Oven, in Clifton Forge in 1993; six brothers, Walter, Charles, Richard, Michael, Edward, and Andrew Adlis; and sister, Mary Lupyak. She is survived by a son, Joseph Oven and wife JoAnn of Auburn, AL; two grandsons, Joseph Oven and wife Laura of Phoenix, AZ, and Matthew Oven and wife Kathleen of Lakewood, CO; three great grandchildren, Sarah Oven and Abigail Oven of Phoenix, AZ and Tyler Oven of Lakewood, CO; and ten nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Tom Collins officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday following the memorial service at Nicely Funeral Home.
