Obituary for Mary Hannah Robinson O'Connor

Mary Hannah Robinson O'Connor, age 70, of 1048 McCormick Blvd, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at The Woodlands Nursing Home in Clifton Forge. She was born April 2, 1942 in Auburn, New York to the late Raymond Robinson and Helen Hennessey Robinson McNally. She was a self employed caregiver for the elderly and children and also worked in finance. She attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lexington. She loved to read and was a former member of the Book Club in Afton. She also enjoyed gardening and the outdoors, decorating and improving her home. A great focus in the last 3 years of her life was helping to raise her youngest granddaughter Keira. She also took great joy and satisfaction in the successes of her 4 older grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John O'Connor, and a brother, David Robinson.She is survived by two daughters, Kate O'Connor of Clifton Forge and Mary Mack of Nantucket, MA; a son, James O'Connor of Jersey City, NJ; and five grandchildren, Keira, Mackenzie, and Ian O'Connor, and Sean and Sara Mack. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lexington with Reverend Joseph A. D'Aurora officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made, in memory of Mary O'Connor, to fund children's programming at the Clifton Forge School of the Arts, PO Box 406, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
