Robert Austin "Bob" Damoiseau
Robert “Bob” Austin Damoiseau, age 87, passed away with family at his side on Monday, October 24, 2016 at his home in Alleghany County, VA. He was born in Boston on January 7, 1929, a son of the late Arthur J. and Cora C. (O’Connell) Damoiseau who were Waltham residents. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Roberta “Bobbie” A. Pease and great granddaughter Kelly Elizabeth Ames. Joined in Holy Matrimony on November 11, 1951, he is survived by his wife of 65 years Barbara Stevens (Leishman) Damoiseau of Alleghany County, VA; daughter, Susan E. Knick and husband, Rick, of Alleghany County, VA; daughter, Barbara J. Conrad-Algeri of Clinton, MA; daughter Jane L. Damoiseau and life-companion, Eric Hartwig, of Clearwater, FL and son-in-law Randy Pease of Lakeland, FL. Also surviving are his great joys and cherished grandchildren Kristin Ames Menard, Brianna Conrad, Donald “DJ” Conrad, Jessica Pease, Emily Pease; great grandchildren Coleman Menard, Kassandra Menard, Caleb Menard, Deklan Gerred; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mr. Damoiseau was a Korean War Army veteran, avid follower of politics, and loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, and New England Patriots. A 1948 graduate of Waltham High School, he and Barbara previously lived in Waltham, Lakeland, FL and Roanoke, VA. In keeping with his wishes, his body was cremated. A family celebration of life will be held at a future date. Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is handling arrangements.
