Obituary for Garnett Nicely Jr.

Garnett Clayton Nicely, Jr., age 51, of 422 W. Ridgeway Street, Apartment B, Clifton Forge, died Sunday, February 12, 2017 at his residence. He was born January 28, 1966 in Clifton Forge to Lula Bell Nicely and the late Garnett Clayton Nicely, Sr. He was a laborer for the town of Clifton Forge. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Nicely, and a sister, Peggy Dunbar. He is survived by his mother, Lula Bell Nicely of Clifton Forge; his fiancée, Ashley Shelton of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Amber Nacole Nicely of Covington; a son, Caleb Duran Nicely of Covington; four sisters, Barbara Wright of Clifton Forge, Kathy Nicely of Clifton Forge, Patricia Stanley and husband Bobby of Glen Wilton, and Dianah Johnson and husband Richard of Hot Springs; a brother, Wayne Nicely of Clifton Forge; a grandson, Oakley Cartwright; a special cousin, Mary Alice Campbell and husband Bill of Low Moor; and a number of nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 2 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Alfred Dearing officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service until 4:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
