Everette Linwood "Buck"  Grimm
Everette Linwood “Buck” Grimm, 82, of 305 Second Avenue, Clifton Forge died Saturday, February 11, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Bath County, Virginia on November 6, 1934, a son of the late Everette Franklin and Lula Frances Schooler Grimm. Buck was a retired heavy equipment operator with CSX Transportation. He was a member of the Central Advent Christian Church, a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He served in the U.S. Navy, and was known locally for being a cast member of the movie “Sommersby” that was filmed in Bath County. Buck will always be remembered for his friendliness and vibrant personality. He never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Frances Persinger Grimm in February of 2016, and by three brothers Cecil William “Pete” Grimm, Glen Lester “Tinker” Grimm, Sr., and Elmer Leroy “Sarg” Grimm. He is survived by a daughter, Gina-Marie Wright and husband Joseph Lovine of Homosassa, Florida; by step daughters, Juanita Savage and Diane Hinkle, both of Clifton Forge; step sons, Jessie Patterson of Clifton Forge, William Patterson of Millboro, and Roy David Patterson of Eagle Rock; four sisters, Phyllis “Gay” Church and husband Bobby of Covington, Joyce Ann “Juice” Grimm of Verona, Myrtle Frances “Shorty” Wolfe and husband Luther of Millboro, and Patty Paige La Cour and husband Todd of Millboro; four brothers, Herman Franklin Grimm and wife Verna of Quinton, Donald Young Grimm and wife Barb of New Castle, Wayne Chester Grimm and wife Betty of Covington, and Danny “Joe” Grimm of Verona; a grandson, Steven Andrew Wright; six step grandchildren, Patricia Savage, Tammy Huffman, Stephanie Patterson, Stacy Dean Patterson, Misty Stranger-Thorsen, and Shey Patterson; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Randy Carroll. A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday morning at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Gene Ayers officiating. A graveside interment will follow at a later date. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning, one hour prior to service time at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Central Advent Christian Church, 3515 Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia 24422.
