James Nelson Reynolds
James Nelson Reynolds, age 79, of 11260 Douthat State Park Road, Millboro, Virginia died Monday, April 3, 2017 at his residence. James was born June 10, 1937 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Henry Lee and Bertha Rutherford Reynolds. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a heavy equipment operator for C. C. Coffey and also cut pulpwood. He was a member of Oak Grove Advent Christian Church. He loved fishing, hunting and also enjoyed watching old westerns and The Andy Griffith Show. He never met a stranger he didn’t befriend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy L. Hayslett Reynolds; two sisters, Beulah R. Griffin and Mary C. Reynolds; and three brothers, Dallas Reynolds, Gordon Reynolds, and Edgar Reynolds. He is survived by his daughters, Karen Reynolds Nicely, Bonnie Reynolds Hyler and husband Dwayne, and Terry Reynolds Irvine and husband Jeff, all of Clifton Forge; a special brother-in-law, Calvin Griffin of Iron Gate; six grandchildren, Benjamin Nicely, Christopher Nicely, Crystal Nicely, Gene Irvine, David Irvine, and Dustin L. Hyler; a great granddaughter, Tammy Irvine and a great granddaughter-to-be, Haven Jade Nicely; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Grover Nicely, Reverend Doug Moore, and Reverend Gordon Hammond officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Millboro. Pallbearers will be Jeff Fairburn, Christopher Nicely, Benjamin Nicely, Timmy Dressler, Pete Adams, and Dawher Sahi. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
