Obituary for Shelby Craft (Mahaney)

Shelby Mahaney Craft, age 78, of 409 Craft Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at LewisGale Hospital – Alleghany in Low Moor. She was born August 1, 1938 in Iron Gate to the late William Henry and Viola Nuckols Mahaney. She was a retired cook for The Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clifton Forge. She had also worked for the former H. O. Canfield and former Jane Colby companies and was a member of Longdale United Methodist Church. She enjoyed NASCAR and closely followed the driver, Kyle Busch. She was also a fan of the Washington Redskins and loved gardening. She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Jack Dempsey Craft of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Shelly Cole of Clifton Forge; a sister, Peggy Bayne of Iron Gate; a brother, Barry Wayne “Butch” Mahaney of Iron Gate; a grandchild, Bailey Taylor; and a number of nieces and nephews.A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Reverend Lester Kennedy officiating. Interment will immediately follow. There will be no formal visitation. Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is handling arrangements.
