Janice Simpson Fridley, age 89, of 1711 Forest Hills Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Thursday, August 17, 2017 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany in Low Moor.She was born May 7, 1928, in Covington, a daughter of the late, Lee Andrew and Martha Fridley Simpson. She was a member of Clifton Forge Baptist Church and a retired Registered Nurse from Alleghany Regional Hospital. She was also an avid Washington Redskins Fan.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Fridley, Sr.; three sisters, Deenie Harmon, Bonnie Vail, and Patricia McClung; and a brother, Robert Simpson.She is survived by three sons, Rodney Fridley, Jr. and wife Cindy, of Florence, SC, Ernest “Andy” Fridley, of Burke, VA, David Searfoss, of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Karen Simpson and husband Tim of Falls Church; two grandchildren, Sgt. Matthew Fridley, US Army and Samantha Foster and husband Cameron; a great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Searfoss; and a number of nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. Interment will follow at Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor.The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
