Obituary for Boschobel Cox Williams Jr.

Boschobel Cox “B.C” Williams, age 68, of 629 McCormick Blvd, Clifton Forge, died Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. He was born December 2, 1949 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Boschobel Cox Williams, Sr. and Mary Ella Hickenbotham Williams. He was a retired Principal for the Jackson River Vocational School and was the Attendance Supervisor for Alleghany County Public School Systems. B. C. graduated from Clifton Forge High School in 1968. At CFHS, he was named All-State running back as a senior and Clifton Forge was undefeated for 2 years while Williams was there. He received both his undergraduate and master’s degree from West Virginia University, where he played football and was named A.P. third team All American, under coach Bobby Bowden. At WVU, Williams was described as a true specimen of a lineman - thick through the chest, broad through the shoulders, compact vertically and possessing great strength. Before his senior year, Bowden touted him as one of the top blocking linemen in the country. He faithfully volunteered at Clifton Forge Library and was well known throughout the Alleghany Highlands. B.C is survived by the two joys of his life, a daughter, Brittany Cherie Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada and a son, Boschobel Cox Williams III of Charlotte, North Carolina; three sisters, Marie Williams of Washington D.C., Madeline Brown of Warrenton, and Lola Williams of Woodbridge; a nephew, William Clayton Brown of Aldie; a niece, Ashley Brown of Clifton Forge; two aunts, Kay Frances Peay of Washington D.C. and Reva Waldron Turner of Los Angeles, California; an uncle, James Edward Hickenbotham of Fincastle; and a number of cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 12:00 Noon in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Clifton Forge, Virginia with Father Tom Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Low Moor. Active pallbearers will be Michael Allen, Carl Withrow, Bill Vickory, Richard Wallace, James “Woo” Hughes, and Dr. Calvin McClinton.
