Joseph Burton Hill III, age 77, of 5221 Longdale Furnace Rd, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville. He was born May 5, 1940 in Seaford, Delaware to the late Joseph Burton Hill, Jr. and Dorothy May Hitch Hill. He graduated from Seaford High School Class of 1958 and served in the United States Navy. He was a General Superintendent for PreCast Erectors and a member of Longdale United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Hill. He is survived by his wife, Linda Linkswiler Hill of Longdale Furnace Road; three sons, David Hill of Arlington, TX, Kyle Hill of Hurst TX, and Tracy Hill of Saginaw, TX; a step son, Brett Thompson of Clifton Forge; a sister, Linda Whaley and two brothers, Brian Whaley and Kim Whaley, all of Delaware; five grandchildren, Kellan Hill, Aidan Hill, Brogan Hill, Peyton Hill, and Katelyn Hill; and a host of nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Longdale United Methodist Church in Clifton Forge with Reverend Bill Bearden officiating. Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge is in charge of local arrangements. In addition, a second memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Paladura Canyon in Amarillo, TX.
