Roy Griffith Johnson, Jr., age 81, of 625 Thornton Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at his residence. He was born March 10, 1936 in Buchanan, Virginia to the late Roy G. Johnson, Sr. and Mary Virginia Thrasher Johnson. He served in the United States Air Force for eight years, and retired from the United State Government as a telephone operator in the Civil Service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Goldie Elizabeth Pendleton. He is survived by a brother, Richard L. Johnson and wife Nancy Lynch Johnson of Moneta, and number of nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. There will be no services held at this time.
