Dreama Whitmer Crutchfield, age 91, of 1303 Wilmont Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Monday, May 7, 2018 at The Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation Center in Low Moor. She was born August 25, 1926 in Clifton Forge to the late Bernard Ray and Mary Broughman Whitmer. She was a homemaker throughout her life and also a retired dispatcher for the Clifton Forge Police Department. She was a member of the Clifton Forge Baptist Church and a founding member of the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ruel Loudon Crutchfield; a son, Barry Lynn Crutchfield; sisters, Mildred Coffman and Nellie W. Knick; brothers, George Whitmer and Bruce Whitmer; and a granddaughter, Angela Crutchfield Dressler. She is survived by a son, Steven Dale Crutchfield and wife Betty Kibler Crutchfield of Charlottesville; two grandsons, Christopher Scott Crutchfield and wife Jessica, and Clark Kibler Crutchfield; four great grandchildren, Aiden, Adler, Ruel, and Lila Crutchfield. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Donna Sams officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the service. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
