Obituary for Benjamin Palmer "Benny" Clark

Benjamin Palmer “Benny” Clark, 88, of 403 Center Court, Covington and formerly of Millboro, died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Woodlands Health and Rehab in Clifton Forge. He was born in Bath County, Virginia on November 6, 1929 a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Loni “Idell” Robertson Clark. He was a retired delivery truck driver for Home Oil Company, a member of Shiloh Methodist Church of Millboro and loved to hunt and fish. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a number of half brothers and sisters. He was the last remaining member of his immediate family.
He is survived by his wife Hilda Clark of Covington; two daughters Nancy McCoy and husband Ray of Covington and Deana Williams and husband Steve of Baker, West Virginia; two sons, Stephen Clark and wife Patty of Covington and Corey Clark and wife Amanda of Hot Springs; four grandchildren, Brett Clark and Stephanie of Hot Springs, Steve Clark and wife Brittani of Lexington, Elaina Humphries and husband Zach of Covington and Holly Williams of Baker, West Virginia; a great grandchild Brinsley Clark of Lexington; a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge with Rev. Doug Hollenbeck and Rev. David George officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:30 P.M. until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggest memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Alleghany Humane Society.
