Phillip Dean Jones, age 57, of 23675 Botetourt Road, Eagle Rock, Virginia died Saturday, June 1, 2019 at his residence.
He was born August 21, 1961 in Barberton, Ohio to the late James Butch “Jimmy” Jones and Lucille Brewer Jones. He worked in the sales department of Amerigas and was a member of Iron Gate Community Church. He loved singing and playing music anywhere, especially at church.
He is survived by his daughter, Burgandy Jones and the mother of his daughter, Sandy Jones, both of Iron Gate; three sisters, Pam Jones Spry, Hailey Jones, and Mary Jones Keyser; four brothers, Charles D. Simms, Billy M. Simms, Roy E. Simms and wife Kim, and Carl Mick Jones and wife Cindy; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Charlie Grubbs and Todd Sutton.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 6:00 PM in Iron Gate Community Church, Iron Gate with Reverend Edith Snedegar and Reverend Charlie Grubbs officiating. The family will visit with friends on Saturday afternoon from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Iron Gate Community Church.
