Obituary for Marguerite Lee "Jackie" Vaughn (Vaughn)

Marguerite Lee “Jackie” Vaughn passed away peacefully on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Hermitage Richmond.
Jackie was born in Eagle Rock, Virginia to the late Alonzo Edgar and Hattie Brooke Vaughn. She worked at the family business, Eagle Rock Milling and Manufacturing Company, for most of her career and retired from Gala Industries as an accountant in 2001. She lived in her hometown of Eagle Rock for nearly 76 years before moving to Hermitage Roanoke in 2001 and transferring to Hermitage Richmond in 2012. Jackie was devoted to her family and friends and to her church. She was an accomplished seamstress, baker and candy maker and enjoyed ceramic making and bowling. In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by five sisters: Mildred Dunning, Louise Madison, Clara Rice, Kitty Madison and Mary Elizabeth Stanley and six brothers: Alonzo Edgar, Jr., James, Paul, Philip, Richard and her twin, Charles. Jackie is survived by her sister, Nellie “Petie” Vaughn Harry, of Richmond and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, July 21, 2017 in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge, Virginia with Reverend Ray Sandifer officiating. Jackie's family will receive friends starting at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be private. The family suggests contributions in Jackie's memory be sent either to Pinnacle Living, 5101 Cox Road, Suite 225, Glen Allen, VA, 23060 with Hermitage Richmond Samaritan Program designated as the recipient in the memo line on your check, or to the Eagle Rock United Methodist Cemetery Fund, C/O Eagle Rock United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 85, Eagle Rock VA 24085
