Charles Ben "Benny"  Albright
Charles Ben “Benny” Albright, age 91, of 1701 Jefferson Ave, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Sunday, October 15, 2017 at his residence. He was born July 18, 1926 in Henrico County to the late Charles Banks Albright and Annie Irene Butler Albright. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy during World War II. Benny later became a sales representative for Cliff Weil, Inc. in Richmond, and was also owner/operator of the Bounti-Mart in Clifton Forge. Benny was a proud 60 year Mason. He was a past Chapter Dad of the International Supreme Council of DeMolay (1967), and a member of the Clifton Forge Masonic Lodge # 166 A.F. & A. M., the Alleghany Royal Arch Chapter # 24 of the Royal Arch Masons, the Alleghany Commandry # 23, the Kazim Shriners A.A.O.N.M.S. of Roanoke, the Clifton Forge Shrine Club (Past President and Charter Member), the former Hot Springs Shrine Club, and the Roanoke Court # 59 Royal Order of the Jesters. Also, in 1964 he served as Commander of the Fredricksburg Commandry # 1, was a Worthy Patron of Chapter 29 Order of the Eastern Star of Fredericksburg, a past member of the Director’s Staff of ACCA Temple in Richmond, and served as Aide to the Potentate and President of S.A.S.A. He was a member of Clifton Forge Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a deacon. Benny loved golf and played at every opportunity. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Banks Albright. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Morris Albright of Clifton Forge; two sons, Charles Steven Albright and wife Janice of Tupelo, MS and David Albright of Clifton Forge; two granddaughters, Kristen A. Albright and Mahala Mittal; two great grandchildren, Maya Mittal and Neel Mittal; and special caregivers, Susan Nicely, Angie Hinebaugh, Debbie Rogers, and Connie Austin. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Bill Hartsfield officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be Hank Via, Roy Putnam, Glenn Perry, Glenn Jones, Dickie Freels, Berkley Persinger, and Lee Smith. Masonic rites will be conducted on Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home by members of the Clifton Forge Masonic Lodge # 166 A.F. & A. M. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Kazim Transportation Fund, 628 W. Campbell Ave. SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.
