Obituary for Theresa Fourqurean

Theresa Gay Fourqurean, age 62, of Richmond, Virginia and formerly of Low Moor, Virginia died Friday, April 6, 2018 in Hopewell. Theresa was born April 30, 1955 in Low Moor, Virginia, a daughter of the late John Robert and Annabell Chambers Fourqurean. She was a former member of the Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Low Moor and a graduate of Alleghany High School. She also graduated from Richmond University in Richmond. She retired from J. L. Francis Elementary Public School in Richmond, where she worked 27 years. Theresa was a woman of inner strength, a devoted mother, loving grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and a good neighbor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy Fourqurean, Larry Fourqurean, and Joe Fourqurean; and three sisters, Montrue Webster, Pauline Fourqurean, and Phyllis Payne. Left to cherish precious memories are three sons, Steven Fourqurean, Sudan Fourqurean, and Suliaman Fourqurean and his friend, Keshauna Bledsoe, all of Richmond; two brothers, Leroy Fourqurean and wife Irene of Baltimore, MD and Gregory Fourqurean and friend Ordean of Low Moor; four sisters, Frances Fourqurean of Raleigh, NC, Renee Fourqurean of Richmond, Zina Brown and husband Rick of Low Moor, and Denise Johnson and husband Lyndon of Stuttgart, Germany; three grandchildren, Nevaeh, Mekhi, and Izaiah; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Roslyn C. Thomas officiating, assisted by area ministers. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be selected from friends attending the service. The family will visit with friends on Friday morning from 11:00 AM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
