Libby and Eric Burger
I first got to know Ann back in the 70s when my mother taught a couple of "the Drewry kids" and Ann taught my son Wade at Clifton Forge West Elementary. Ann was an excellent teacher and made a difference in the lives of so many kids. We became friends and our relationship grew as we served and played together over the years. A number of years ago when the Clifton Forge Women's Club was in danger of folding, and no one else would, Ann took on the Presidency of the club and led it to become the vibrant organization it is today. Ann served in many clubs, organizations and groups. She served on the AHACC Board and would show up at the Art Center several days a week donating her time to help with whatever needed to be done. Not only did Ann show up at Lisa's Kitchen the last Friday of each month to help prepare the meals but she always brought the cakes or cookies she had picked up at the Little Debbie Outlet, either on her way to or coming home from a visit with Kathryn and her family. And she did love her family, always updating us on their lives. Playing bridge with Ann was such a joy. She was to have been the hostess at our Tuesday club before the Lord saw fit to take her home. We will truly miss her. And it won't be quite the same going in to the St.Andrew's Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper without Ann there. Our community has lost a vibrant, generous, kind, loving lady. Many lives have been blessed by knowing her and many she didn't know had their lives blessed by her service and generosity.
Please accept our deepest sympathy. We share in your loss. May the Lord bless you and give you peace.
