Obituary for Caroline DePriest

Caroline Feury DePriest, age 91, of 102 Waller Avenue, Covington, Virginia died Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at The Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation in Clifton Forge.
She was born July 4, 1927 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Hice M. and Beulah Fridley Feury. She was a Postmaster for the United States Postal Service in Alleghany County. She was a former member and Past Matron of the Electa Chapter # 33 OES – Roanoke, a former member of the Martha Chapter # 21 OES Covington, and a member of the order of the Amaranth- Blue Ridge Court # 8, Charlottesville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Zandy Gordon DePriest.
She is survived by a daughter, Shanda D. Carter and husband David of Covington; two sons, Zandy D. DePriest and wife Susan of Woodstock, and Randy D. DePriest and wife Kathy of Eagle Rock; a sister, Mildred F. Huff of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren, Zandy W. DePriest, Chessyea T. DePriest, Lorie D. Jamerson and husband Billy, Forrest D. DePriest and wife Mary Kate, Amanda D. DePriest, Ryan D. Carter and Gabrielle, and Justin M. Barnes and wife Missy; and twelve great grandchildren, Cody, Ella, Vivian, Garrett, Reese, Cassidy, Raegan, Logan, Allie, Chance, Grace, and Elise.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Ray Sandifer officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery, Eagle Rock. Pallbearers will be Ryan Carter, Justin Barnes, Mark Smith, James Jennings, Bob Riggle, Roy Kendrick, David Mays, and Ray Tolley. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to The American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Association.
