Obituary for Theodore "Ike" Eisenhower

Theodore Eli “Ike” Eisenhower, age 98, of 1301 Concord Street, Selma, Virginia died Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at The Woodlands Health and Rehab Center in Clifton Forge.
He was born September 29, 1920 in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania to the late John T. and Edith Sunderlin Eisenhower. He served in the United States Army during World War II in Europe, stationed in France and Germany. He was a member of Bolar Ruritan Club, and loved farming, hunting, and his family. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Eisenhower, Abner Eisenhower, and Cie Eisenhower.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Hicklin Eisenhower of Selma; a son, Robert “Bobby” Eisenhower of Glen Wilton; a granddaughter, Tina Carter and husband Danny of Selma; two great grandchildren, Will Carter of Selma and Cane Hayslett of Eagle Rock; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Grover Nicely officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by members of the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Pallbearers will be Doug Morris, Jim Hogg, Cane Hayslett, Nelson Howdyshell, Gary Howdyshell, and David Buchanan. The family will receive friends on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
