Condolence: How sad to hear of the passing of Mary Litts. She was a friend, mentor and supporter from the first day that I began work in the Alleghany Highlands Public Schools. But there must be great joy in her soul now as she has been released from the confines of an earthly body and has begun her life in glory. Brenda and I extend our deepest sympathy to the family but give thanks to God for having created such a remarkable person. Soar high, Dr. B, for you have left an impression on all of us remaining.

Condolence: Mary Litts was one of my doctoral advisees. In addition to my work with her as a mentor, I had the opportunity to work with her as a colleague in accreditation visits and as a consultant evaluating several programs in Alleghany County. Several of those programs effectively addressed student needs and efforts to improve instruction in the county.

Those programs were uniformly well conceived and successful in large measure the result of her creative ideas and effective leadership. She was a credit to the school division and the profession. Kathie and I send condolences to the family.

Condolence: We worked with Mary Litts for many years. She was a very caring person and always treated people with respect. The entire Alleghany education system benefited from her concern for our students. Her influence has been, and will continue to be felt for many years. Our sincerest sympathy to her family.

Condolence: Mary Litts became a mentor to us when we came as strangers to Alleghany County to teach at the high school. She remembered our young sons each year with a religious advent calendar. We will remember her as a gracious hardworking teacher and administrator as well as our friend.
