Obituary for Jennifer Hawes
Jennifer Lynn Davis Hawes, age 60, of 4301 Longdale Furnace Rd, Clifton Forge, Virginia passed on Monday, September 2, 2019 in her home. Jennifer was born on November 28, 1958 in Erwin, Tennessee to the late Jefferson Lee "Rod" Davis, Jr. and Lucille Justice Davis.
Jennifer created & facilitated her own community of love and support for those who didn't have their own community, and she used everything she had to help those in need and turned away no-one. She was animated, charming & witty and was always the life of the party. She loved her family & her farm, and loved spending her summers on the Cowpasture River.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold David Hawes.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Leona Rucker and husband, Joshua of Clifton Forge; a sister, Melanie Luchansky and husband Paul of Sharpsburg, GA; a brother, Greg Davis of Erwin, TN; her beloved grandson, Atlas Rucker; two nieces, Lindsey Luchansky and Ashley Auld; a step-daughter, Samantha Hawes of Denver, CO; and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews by marriage.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 5:00 PM at The Farm at Glen Haven, 4301 Longdale Furnace Rd, Clifton Forge, VA. The service will be officiated by Pastor Jeff Wylde, of Fincastle Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on-site at "The Barn," following the service for fellowship.
