Tex Owlin Southers, 79, of 215 Fork Farm Road, Iron Gate, died Monday October 28, 2019 at The Brian Center-Alleghany in Low Moor. He was born October 6, 1940 in Buena Vista, a son of the late Maxwell Terry and Carrie Bell Henson Southers. He was a graduate of Covington High School. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Homer Southers and Eugene Southers. He is survived by three sisters, Kathy Conner and husband Steve, of The Fork Farm, Eleanor McKay, of Florida, Betty Forbes and husband Hampton, of Clifton Forge; a brother, Alfred Southers and wife Shirley, of Trouville; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Stephen Wayne Conner and his wife Wendy; and a sister-in-law, Jeannie Southers Hale and husband Jim. In keeping with his wishes his body will be cremated and no services or visitation are scheduled at this time.
