Obituary for
Anna Reynolds
Anna Mary Carter Reynolds, age 90, of 1407 S. Franklin Avenue, Covington, Virginia died Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at LewisGale Hospital – Alleghany, Low Moor.
She was born February 25, 1929 in Bedford, Virginia to the late Forrest Alonzo and Lucy Jane Warlitner Carter. She was Owner/Operator of the former Palace Restaurant in downtown Covington and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Clifton Forge. She loved working in the yard with her roses and flowers, and enjoyed baking and keeping her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Richard Reynolds in 2000, her brothers and sisters, and a son-in-law, Mike Hostetter.
She is survived by two daughters, Lucy Jane Hostetter of Clifton Forge and Brenda Gail Walker and husband Laten of Alderson, WV; a son, Andrew R. Reynolds, Jr., and wife Thelma “Cookie” of Covington; a brother, Fred Carter and wife Romaine of Selma; five grandchildren, Chris Reynolds, Damon Reynolds, Laten Walker II, Eli Walker, and Laurel Clark; four great grandchildren, Delilah Walker, Leo Walker, Nathan Clark, and Jacob Clark; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Debbie “Doots” Curtis.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Paul Brokaw and Reverend Mike Rollins officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Covington. Active pallbearers will be Damon Reynolds, Chris Reynolds, Laten Walker II, Eli Walker, Jackie Leitch, and Danny Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Montie Curtis and Buzzy Ross. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the home of Lucy Hostetter, 1201 Linden Avenue, Clifton Forge.
