Obituary for Marion Lawrence "Bob" Shull

Marion Lawrence “Bob” Shull, age 83, of 103 Wilson Creek Lane, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Monday, January 13, 2020 at the Highland House, Clifton Forge.

He was born January 9, 1937 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Carl Edward Shull, Sr. and Audrey Mannings Shull. He was a mechanic for Hercules for over 35 years. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, the International Mercury Owners Association, the Mustang Club, and was a former member of Griffith Knob Hunt Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Shull; a sister, Betty Shull Bridges; and a brother, Carl Edward Shull, Jr.

He is survived by a brother, Richard Lee Shull and wife Barbara of Selma; a sister-in-law, Eva Wilcher Shull of Newport News; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Jonathan Greer officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Earl Anderson, Brandon Nicely, Marion Algon Nicely, Tim Blackburn, Tommy Slusser and Gary Hoke. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by members of the Burnside-Carpenter VFW Post # 4299. Pallbearers will be Earl Anderson, Brandon Nicely, Marion Algon Nicely, Tim Blackburn, Tommy Slusser, and Gary Hoke. The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 12:00 PM until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
