Obituary for Sandy Stuart Suggs
Sandy Stuart Suggs, age 55, of Midland Trail, Covington Virginia passed away on February 28, 2020 at Lewis Gale Medical Center, Salem VA in the presence of his wife and children.
He was born June 17, 1964 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to Carrie Faye Hedgepeth Suggs and the late James Allen Suggs, Jr. He was self-employed and worked in various cities and worked on numerous projects. He had his own business, Mountain View Custom Framing, which built several structures around the Greenbrier and Homestead Resorts. One of Sandy’s proudest accomplishments was being part of a missionary trip to Guyana to assist in constructing a church there. Sandy was an avid golfer, loved sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and NC State Wolfpack, and enjoyed playing golf with friends. Sandy’s cats and dogs brought a lot of joy to his life.
He is survived by his mother, Carrie Faye Hedgepeth Suggs of Raleigh, NC; his wife, Rebecca Yvonna “Becky” Walton Suggs of Covington; a daughter, Hannah L. Shoemake (T.J) of Columbia, SC; two sons, Zachary A. Suggs and Wayne K. “Punky” Cline both of Covington; a sister, Susan Shearman of Wendell, NC; a brother, Alan Suggs (Lisa) of Wendell, NC; and a niece, Gwen Shearman of Washington D.C.
In keeping with his wishes, his body will be cremated. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
