Obituary for Carrie Lou Mattox (Gibson)
Carrie Lou Gibson Mattox, age 62, of 3332 Cowpasture River Highway, Millboro, Virginia died Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at her residence.
She was born September 22, 1957 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Charles Herman Gibson and Rose Leola Lamb Gibson. She was a homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and the outdoors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Kent Mattox and a grandson, Hunter Gage Mattox.
She is survived by a daughter, Cherie Mattox of Eagle Rock; a son, Jay Mattox and wife Cordelia of Covington; a brother, Charles H. Gibson, Jr; five grandchildren, Joel Hall, Hayden Catlett, Korey Mattox, Tucker Mattox, Leland Mattox; special friend Bill Patterson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2020 in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor with Reverend Edith Snedegar officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
