Obituary for Ruth Thompson

Ruth Arlene Frederick Thompson, age 59, of 1710 Main Street, Apartment 302, Clifton Forge, Virginia passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.
She was born August 25, 1961 in Pennsylvania to the late Ernest and Dorothy Garner Frederick. She served as a volunteer for children’s groups at Lone Star Advent Christian Church, where she was a member. She enjoyed volunteering at Camp ACCOVAC, Sharon Elementary School, and any activity in which her grandchildren were involved. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Skip, and a sister, Joyce Frederick. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Richmond and husband Jason of Clifton Forge; three sons, David Lemin of Pennsylvania, Charles Lemin of West Virginia and Kevin Lemin of Clifton Forge; a sister, Mary Frederick of Pennsylvania; a brother, Howard Frederick of Ohio; seven grandchildren, Wylan Richmond, Waylon Richmond, Wyatt Richmond, Willow Richmond, Kevin Stolle, Amelia Lemin and Morgan Lemin; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Melissa Downey, Josie Denius, Seldon “Pops” Rowe, Jr., and her church family.
In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Family Life Center of Lone Star Advent Christian Church, Clifton Forge with Reverend Doug Moore officiating.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Lone Star Advent Christian Church Youth Fund, 4704 Nicelytown Rd, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
