Obituary for Kathy Nicely
Kathy Lynn Nicely, age 58, of 422 W. Ridgeway Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at her residence.
Kathy was born October 23, 1962 in Clifton Forge to Lula Belle Nicely and the late Garnett Clayton Nicely, Sr. She was a homemaker throughout her life and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed watching the Charles Stanley program on television and especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her father, Kathy was preceded in death by an infant son, Dale Lee Nicely, Jr.; two brothers, Garnett Clayton Nicely, Jr. and Mark Nicely; and a sister, Peggy Dunbar.
In addition to her mother, Lula Belle Nicely of Clifton Forge, who cared for her lovingly over the last four years, Kathy is survived by three daughters, Jessica Nicely of Clifton Forge, Jennifer Nicely of Iron Gate, and Ashley Nicely of Clifton Forge; three sisters, Dinah Johnson and husband Richard of Hot Springs, Patricia Stanley and husband Bobby of Clifton Forge, and Barbara Wright and friend Bobby Williams of Clifton Forge; a brother, Wayne Nicely of Clifton Forge; two brothers-in-law, Leo Wright and Michael Dunbar; a special “sister” Polly Humphreys; five grandchildren, Jacob Nicely, Bentley Nicely, Kayleigh Wright, Abigail Humphreys, Emily Humphreys; special friend, John Anthony “Tony” Williams of Glen Wilton; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held next Friday, February 5, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Alfred Dearing officiating. Friends may visit with family following the service.
