Obituary for Erma Mae Clark (Johnson)
Erma Mae Johnson Clark, age 92, of The Highland House, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Thursday, April 1, 2021 at The Highland House.
She was born August 26, 1928 in Botetourt County, Virginia to the late Milton James Johnson and Mabel Jane DePriest Johnson Duke. She was a homemaker throughout her life.
In addition to her parents, Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Alvin Clark, Sr.; an infant daughter; 2 brothers, Carl Johnson and wife Lucy and Cromer Johnson and first wife Della and second wife Lucille; 3 sisters, Lucille Angle and husband Charlie, Helen Lane and husband Joe, and Pauline Pangarakis and husband Charles; and a daughter-in-law, Sherry Spangler LePard Clark.
She is survived by 4 sons, Maynard Clark, Jr. and wife Carolyn, Leonard Clark and wife Beverley, Robert Clark and wife Barbara, and David Clark, all of Iron Gate; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery, Botetourt County, with her grandson, Mr. David Clark officiating. Interment will immediately follow. There will be no formal visitation. However, friends may call anytime during normal business hours at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
