Wilma Jacqueline (Stephenson) Plecker, “Jackie”, age 86 of Douthat State Park Road
in Millboro died Tuesday, April 27th at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. She was born December 6th, 1934 in Warm Springs, VA, the daughter of Jesse and Edith Ervine Stephenson. She married Forrest Clayton ”Tate” Plecker on December 29, 1952 (68 years). Jackie was an incredible business woman, philanthropist and community member. She worked and co-owned F.C. Plecker & Sons Construction with her husband Clayton and 3 sons. She also began one of the first woman owned businesses in Bath County, Oak Ridge Seeding Co., which she worked and operated with her daughter for 15 years. She served on numerous boards in Bath County and was instrumental in organizing many fund raisers and church events. Her passion for dancing and music started the Piney Mountain Singers and Piney Mountain Cloggers. These two groups performed all over VA and WV. Jackie orchestrated the Piney Mountain Jamboree which consisted of area talent and her very own singers and cloggers. She also enjoyed softball and bowling. She was a member of Woodland Church for over 60 years. During that time she served on numerous committees and as board chairperson and treasurer, Sunday school teacher, and choir member. Her accomplishments were many but those who knew her know it was her generosity and heart for her friends and neighbors that will live on deeply in her community. Jackie was an exemplary woman of faith and positivity known for giving her time and cultivating relationships, especially among her family. Her relationship with the Lord and her family were of utmost importance to her. She is survived by her husband, Forrest Clayton Plecker and her children, Lynn Ellen Black and husband Tommy, Marty Plecker and wife Susan, Craig Plecker and wife Janet, and Ricky Plecker and wife Shelly, all of Millboro; 11 grandchildren, Kathie Sidner, Shannan Waldeck, Tiffany Williford, Christopher Plecker, Katie Mercer, Erin Roberts, Monica Plecker, Meagan Walkley, Travis Plecker, Emily Fry, and Ryan Plecker; 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Jackie was proceeded in death by two brothers and three sisters. I haven't seen Jackie for over 45 years, but I will ALWAYS remember all the time and energy that she spent in working with the children's choir at Woodland when I went there. She was truly dedicated to us and encouraged us. She was a wonderful soul!

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. While working beside her In the last 14 years with the MPCA, we have came to love and respect her so much. We learned of the loving and giving soul she had, of the many deeds done she did behind the scenes, of her strong faith in God and many more characters of this great lady. She will always be missed and remembered in our hearts. One particular memory she loved having her Coke always saying " I know I shouldn't drink this, the good lord will take me when he's ready so I'm going to enjoy life" with a smile on her face. We know she is walking the streets of gold with a can of Coke in her hand beside her Lord and Savior singing praises. With much love, Denny and Stephanie Forbes
