Obituary for Cynthia Powell Ervin (Cindy)

Cynthia Kay “Cindy” Powell Ervin, age 68, of 2782 Germany Road, Renick, West Virginia, and formerly of Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, West Virginia.
Cindy was born August 27, 1952 in Clifton Forge to the late Arnold Keith Powell and Rachel Virginia Wilson Beasley. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for The Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clifton Forge, and a member of Mount Herman United Methodist Church in Renick. She loved life and her family, and enjoyed spending time with animals and going to the farm. She was an avid supporter of the Clifton Forge High School Alumni Association.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Caroline Powell Cooper.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Ervin of Renick, WV; her children, Sarah Broughman and Derrick Robinson, her grandchildren, Kaleb Williamson and Gabriel Broughman, and her great grandchildren, Elias Williamson, Pharyn Williamson, and Ellie Williamson, all of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Patsy Powell Fairburn and Mary Jo Powell Andersen; her step children, Christine Gier Rothwell of Covington, Melissa Gier Hoover of Franklin, WV, Michael Ervin and wife C. J. of Renick, WV, Christina Rodgers and husband Dewey of White Sulphur Springs, WV, and Kelly Childers and husband Jason of White Sulphur Springs, WV; her step grandchildren, Pippa Ervin, Elissa Ervin, Bridget Ervin, Carter Childers, and Easton Childers, all of White Sulphur Springs, WV. She was a “MawMaw” to many. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews; her “second mother”, Peggy Robinson; and special family friends, Cindy Bay, Karen Robinson, Timmy Puffenbarger, Zach Whitmore, Susan Wilhelm, Pat Shifflett, and Dominique Toliver; and all of her church family.
In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Sharon Senior Citizens Center on Nicelytown Road, Clifton Forge.
