Obituary for Chanda Lynn Higgins
Chanda Lynn Higgins, age 43, of 218 Spruce Street, Covington, Virginia died Friday, May 21, 2021 at Henrico Doctors' Hospital – Forest in Richmond, Virginia.
She was born October 31, 1977 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to Kathy Higgins Moore. She was an employee of Jackson River Enterprises in Covington. Chanda enjoyed listening to country music, playing Uno or Old Maid, and loved horses.
Chanda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Rosa Higgins; and her “buddy”, Uncle Sonny Higgins.
She is survived by her mother, Kathy Higgins Moore and Ham Anger; two sisters, Sabrina Boggs, and husband Mike, and Heidi Altizer, and husband Dougie, all of Covington; her boyfriend, Ken Crowder of Covington; three aunts, Faye Nicely, Nellie Bess, and Brenda Higgins; two uncles, Harold Higgins, and wife Pam, and Eddie Higgins and wife Catherine; four nieces Emma, Makenlee, Braylee, and Harper.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Chris Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in Higgins Family Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Shawn Douglas, Cody Fisher, Ricky Simmons, Terry Loving, Gerald Wolfe and James Jackson. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Dougie Altizer and Mike Boggs. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
