Obituary for Larry Linwood Nicely

Larry Linwood Nicely, age 85, of 5419 Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Saturday, May 29, 2021 at his residence.

He was born March 11, 1936 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Zebbie Hartful Nicely and Mattie Elizabeth Hall Nicely. He was a conductor for CSX Railroad. He was a lifelong member of Longdale Methodist Church, a member of the Yondota Masonic Lodge #572, the Scottish Rite Bodies of Toledo and the Zenobia Shine Club. Larry also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and traveling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Maxine Bell May Nicely; a brother, Roy Jones; and a sister, Janice Randell.

He is survived by a son, Larry H. Nicely and wife Karen; a daughter, Kim Kelly and husband Mike; three grandchildren, Matthew Nicely, Katlin Nicely and William Kelly, all of Perrysburg, OH; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Tootles Terry for all of her help.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 11:00AM in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Reverend Gene Ayers officiating. Interment will immediately follow. Friends may pay their respects anytime during normal business hours at Nicely Funeral Home until the time of service on Wednesday.
