Obituary for Elizabeth Louise "Libby" McCoy (Boguess)
Elizabeth Louise “Libby” Boguess McCoy, age 83, of 413 Commerce Avenue, Iron Gate, Virginia died Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at The Woodlands Health and Rehab in Clifton Forge, Virginia.
She was born March 6, 1939 in Virginia to the late Leroy and Daisy Broughman Boguess. She was a homemaker throughout her life and a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Earnest McCoy; a brother, Alfred Boguess; and four sisters, Marie Boguess, Thelma Campbell, Betty Clark, and Edna Tingler.
She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Unroe and husband Dale, and Stacey Broughman, both of Clifton Forge; a son, Keith McCoy of Iron Gate; a sister, Martha Simmons of Covington; two granddaughters, Hannah Unroe and Paislee Broughman; and a number of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Gail Gibson.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Virgil Woodie officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be Adam Simmons, Austin Simmons, Layne Simmons, Chris Broughman, Billy Nicely, and Heath Wade. The family will visit with friends on Sunday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
