Obituary for Dolly Anita Van Ness

Dolly Anita Van Ness, age 57, of B Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
Dolly was born November 11, 1964 in Clifton Forge to the late Fred Everett and Goldie Frances Nicely Van Ness. She was an independent private sitter and loved her animals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Tony Van Ness, Fred Van Ness, Benny Van Ness, and Tracy Van Ness; two sisters, Shirley Van Ness and Cindy Nicely; and a nephew, Tanner Nicely.
She is survived by a daughter, Dawnyale Key, and a son, Kevin Van Ness and his fiancée Sarah Reed, of Clifton Forge; three sisters, Becky Deane and husband Reggie of Low Moor, and Cathy Van Ness and Rosie Van Ness, both of Clifton Forge; four grandchildren, Adonis Mason, Taylor Van Ness, Kai Van Ness, and Raina Van Ness; a step grandson, Benjamin Tingler; a number of nieces and nephews; a special friend, Tom Simmons of Covington; as well as her dog, Precious and her cat, Miss Kitty.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Edith Snedegar and Reverend Stephanie Clark officiating. Following the service, her body will be cremated. The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 3:00 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
