Obituary for Crystal Vess (Patterson)
Crystal Loretta Patterson Vess, age 78 of Clifton Forge, Virginia went to rest with her late husband, Jerry on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 until the second coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was born March 30, 1944 in Alleghany County to the late Presley Lee Patterson and Ruby Della Anderson Patterson. She loved children and taught at Sharon Elementary School for 51 years. She attended Central Advent Christian Church and back in the day, volunteered at the Sharon Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Crystal loved sewing and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Vess, Sr., and a brother, Pat Patterson.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Jr. and wife Teresa; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren, Melinda and Hank Benson, Jack and Carlyn, Justin Vess and Meghan, Jeslyn, Kenton, Preston, Ben and Mikayla Vess and Lily; two sisters; five brothers; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Mike Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family will receive friends from 12:30PM until time of service.
