Obituary for Gloria Ann Martin Nicely
Gloria Ann Martin Nicely, age 89, of 2825 Douthat Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Saturday, May 14, 2022 at The Woodlands Health and Rehab, Clifton Forge.
She was born March 18, 1933 in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late Clyde D. and Susie Hughes Martin. She was a private Nurse’s Aide and a past member of the Central Advent Christian Church. She loved her grandchildren and her pets.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James Letcher “Buck” Nicely; a sister, Jewell Brandon; and a granddaughter.
She is survived by three daughters, Kim Nicely Paraday and husband Jesse of Little Elm, TX, Judith Hill, and Cheryl Mason of Little Elm, TX; a son, Keith Nicely of South Carolina; a brother, Clyde “Buddy” Martin and his wife Emma, who could always be counted on for taking such good care of Ann; twelve grandchildren, including a special grandson, Christian Zamora who always brightened her day; ten great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her family’s wishes, her body has been cremated. A graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Reverend Gene Ayers officiating. The family would like to thank the staff of Intrepid Hospice and The Woodlands for taking care of Gloria.
