Obituary for Julia Mae Smith (Gamble)
Julia Mae Gamble Smith, age 95, of 1018 Cliftwood Circle, Clifton Forge, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at her residence.
She was born September 14, 1926 in Lynchburg, South Carolina to the late Julius Edward Gamble and Florence Witherspoon Gamble. She was a retired factory worker for Nabisco in Fairlawn, NJ and a member of Main Street Baptist Church, Clifton Forge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Joseph E. Smith; a son, Jerry Smith; a brother, Eugene Gamble; two sisters, Addie Gamble and Mary Bradley.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Andrea McKan and husband, Chris; four great grandchildren, Regjai Jones, Epiphany Ashford, Julia Jones and Khalil Zellers; three nephews, George Bradley, Dretcher Bradley and Venice Bradley.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 2:00PM in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Reverend Preston Tyler and Reverend Ronald Baker officiating. Interment will immediately follow. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:30PM at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
