Obituary for Donald Wayne "Donnie" Bryant
Donald Wayne “Donnie” Bryant, age 65, of White Rock Gap Road, Covington, Virginia died Monday, August 1, 2022 at Chippenham Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia.
He was born April 16, 1957 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Daniel Rufus Bryant and Elsie Elizabeth Minter Bryant. He was an operator for CSX Transportation. He loved playing golf and guitar, as well as gardening. When he wasn’t working on cars, you could find him enjoying the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Marie “ReRe” Cantrell Bryant; two daughters, Melissa Bryant and Elizabeth Bryant; and a sister, Glenna Johnson.
He is survived by two sons, Derek Cantrell and wife Johnell and Logan Bryant and significant other, Heather Snead, all of Covington; a brother, Basil Bryant of Covington; four grandchildren, Laken Cantrell, Jace Cantrell, Melody Bryant, and Jeremiah Bryant; a brother-in-law, Jeff Cantrell and wife Mary of Clifton Forge; a number of nieces and nephews; and special companion, Rogue.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Shorty Wolfe officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
