Obituary for James Lewis Tingler

James Lewis Tingler, age 57, of 3417 Douthat Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Thursday, August 4, 2022 at his residence.
He was born September 28, 1964 in Alleghany County, Virginia to Frances “Sally” Knighton Tingler and the late Tavner Owens “Tab” Tingler. He was a long haul trucker for 32 years, and a member of Low Moor Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed talking about trucking and loved watching Gunsmoke, wrestling, and John Wayne Movies.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tavner Tingler, Jr.; a sister, Norma Tingler Straub; paternal grandparents, Lecky and Sarah Tingler; and maternal grandparents, Percy and Lucy Knighton.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Tingler of Clifton Forge, his mother, Sally Tingler of Low Moor; a daughter, Stephanie Tingler Stone of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Patricia Jack and husband Michael, and Mary Jack and husband Robbie, Jr., all of Clifton Forge; two brothers, Richard L. Tingler and significant other Vicki, and Michael W. Tingler and friend, all of Low Moor; and Uncle and Aunt, Tommy and Elaine Tingler of Low Moor; his mother-in-law, Linda Brooks Sprouse of Clifton Forge; two sisters-in-law, Lorene Morgan and husband Doc of Aberdeen, MS, and Ramona Tucker and husband Mitchell of Clifton Forge; two grandchildren, Cheyanne Nicole Stone and Amber Faith Stone; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special companion, “Sassy”.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
