Obituary for Richard Leo Mathieu
Richard Leo Mathieu, age 70, of 9710 Rich Patch Road, Covington, Virginia died Friday, August 19, 2022 at his residence.
He was born May 20, 1952 in New Jersey to the late Armand Raymond and Florence Applegate Mathieu. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Iron Gate Community Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha Myers Mathieu of Low Moor; a daughter, Melissa Woods of Roanoke; two sons, John Woods of Low Moor and Jay Woods of Clifton Forge; five sisters; two brothers; a sister-in-law, Jan Taylor; a brother-in-law, Clay Nicely; his mother-in-law, Lois Nicely; five grandchildren, Meghan Bradley and family, Tyler Woods and family, Brandon Angle and family, Alesha Jones and family, Bella Woods and family; seven great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
