Obituary for Dorothy "Dottie" Nicely
Dorothy Louis “Dottie” Morgan Nicely, age 68, of 4711 Nicelytown Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born February 10, 1954 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late George Louis Morgan, Sr. and Dorothy Nicely Morgan. She was a homemaker throughout her life as well as a member and Sunday School Teacher for Lone Star Advent Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George Morgan, Jr., Ricky Morgan, Robert Morgan; and two sisters, Patsy Smith and Linda Reynolds.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Theodore Wilson Nicely, Jr. of Clifton Forge; three sons, T.W. Nicely III and wife Rebecca, Billy Wayne Nicely and wife Devon, both of Covington, and William Louis Nicely and wife Melissa of Roanoke; a brother, Steve Morgan of New York; nine grandchildren, Morgan, Grace, Zach, Anthony, Kaylee, Aubrey, Benson, Brenna (Kendall), and Austin; a great grandson, Jhett; two special nieces, Tammy and Becky; a special nephew, G.W.; and special friends, Donna and Shannon; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Vince Hartford officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Morgan Nicely, Kendall Hassler, Austin Patterson, Lance Carson, Anthony Nicely, Layne Carson, and Ashton Hill. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
