Obituary for Shirley Clark Miller
Shirley Clark Miller passed away on December 30, 2022, in Ashland VA. Shirley was born on December 30, 1934, in Rich Patch Virginia.
She was a 1952 graduate of Central High School in Low Moor VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Martin Clark and Roxie Peters Clark McGlothin; son, Grant A. Daniel, Jr.; sisters, Helena Muriel Piazza and Wanda Dale Craft; brothers, Harry "Buddy" Clark and Wiley Eugene Clark; and her husbands, Grant A. Daniel and Wilbur "Dink" Miller.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry (William) Garrison of Anaheim, CA, Lori Lloyd (Donald) of Ashland, VA, Traci Batalon (Edwin) of Hayes, VA, Mary Miller of Portsmouth, VA; son, Clark Daniel of Hartfield, VA; grandchildren; Dana, Samantha, Brent, Linzi, Payton, and Hayden; great-grandchildren, Chase (Devoted), Donald, Melinda, Grant, Traey, Brooke, Savannah, Joshua, Christian, Lucas, and Lilly, two great-great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Shirley resided in Hartfield VA for forty years and was very active in her church and community. She was a founding charter member of Friendship Baptist Church in Hartfield VA. Shirley moved to Ashland VA with her daughter and caregiver Lori, in 2017. Lori would like to thank everyone for the prayers, love, and kindness shown to her mother during the last difficult months, your thoughtfulness meant so much to Shirley and always put a smile on her face.
In keeping with her expressed wishes for cremation, there will be no service at this time. A memorial service will be held at Allegheny Memorial Park in Low Moor, VA in late Spring.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to her favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in her memory.
