Obituary for Phyllis Dora Tyree (Caldwell)
Phyllis Dora Caldwell Tyree, age 103, of 1412 Wilmont Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Sunday, February 12, 2023 at her residence.
She was born October 9, 1919 in Clifton Forge to the late Ira Van Dorn Caldwell and Grace Jeffries Caldwell. She was a homemaker throughout her life and a member of Walton United Memorial Methodist Church. She enjoyed crochet and sewing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Miller Tyree, and three brothers, James C. Caldwell, Ira “Boots” Caldwell, and Herbert Hilton “Bunk” Caldwell.
She is survived by two daughters, Debby Williams and Patricia Persinger, and husband Eddie, both of Clifton Forge; two grandchildren, Ashleigh Nicole Williams and Philip Arthur Williams; and special nieces, Kathy Hall of Crozet and Susan Clark of Longdale.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Father Tom McHenry officiating. Interment will immediately follow. The family will receive friends at the residence following the service.
