Obituary for Mary Ellen Loan (Byrd)
Mary Ellen Byrd Loan, age 78, of 300 Wintergreen Ave, Clifton Forge, Virginia is at rest with her Lord and Savior after a long battle with cancer. on March 31, 2023 surrounded by loving family she passed into a new body where suffering is no more.
She was born October 3, 1944 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Glen Byrd and Carrie Ethel Lawson Byrd. She was a devoted homemaker and expert cook known for her skillful hospitality by family and friends throughout her life.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers: Catherine Dozier and Shirley Leapley; Albert Byrd and John Byrd
She is mourned by her husband, Claude “Buck” Loan and three daughters: Debbie Randozzo (Guy), Pamela Istrate (Mihai) and Glenda Burke (Louie Kincaid). She will also be remembered by six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind devoted and special friends Roberta Daniel; Edith Roberts; Jean Hensley and Deanie Eure.
In keeping with her longtime wishes, her body has been cremated and there will be no service.
