Robert Eugene Swieder, age 69, of 206 Dunbrack Road, Covington, Virginia passed away peacefully on Friday, May 12, 2023 at his residence.
He was born September 23, 1953 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Walter Swieder and Sarah Steele. As well as a special dad, Millard Steele. He is survived by his wife, Gloria “Glo Bug” Swieder; two daughters, Ashley Kimberlin and husband, Chuckie, Melissa Newman and husband, Mike; five grandchildren, Alex, Hayle, Michael, Devin and Adley; a brother, John; a sister, Betty Ann; special friends, Lester Gibson, David Huffman, Glenn May, George Leitch, Shirley Robertson and her precious daughter, Josi.
Robert spent the early years of his working career with Hercules, Chessie System and eventually 35 years with Westrock before his retirement. He enjoyed motorcycle trips, fishing, hunting and a special passion for woodworking.
In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated. No services are scheduled.
