Obituary for Norma Jean Preuit

Norma Jean Preuit
Norma Jean Preuit, age 45, of 3103 Circle Drive, Covington, Virginia earned her wings Monday, July 13, 2015 at The Golden Living Center in Clifton Forge. She was born May 26, 1970 in Seward, Nebraska to Duane and Jo Jean Froid Preuit. She was a school bus driver for the Alleghany Highlands Public School System and worked as a veterinary technician for Highlands Veterinary Clinic in Selma. She attended Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. Norma was an avid animal lover who enjoyed raising and riding horses. She also enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. Her most precious pastime was riding her Harley with the love of her life, Kevin, and the rest of her biker family. Norma is survived by her father, Duane Preuit of Waco, NE and mother, Jo Jean Preuit of Gresham, NE; her fiancé, Kevin Lee Crane of Covington; a daughter, Elizabeth Jean Halterman of Winchester; a son, William Chase Halterman of Georgia; a sister, Renee Katherine Ryan of Waverly, NE; a brother, Timothy Duane Preuit of Waco, NE; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Josh and Megan Crane and their children, Hannah and Jackson Crane, Angie and Melvin Campbell, and many other friends across the United States too numerous to mention. In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 6:30 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Doug Hollenbeck officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening, one hour prior to the service at Nicely Funeral Home. A celebration of Norma's life will be held on Saturday, July 18, beginning at 5:00 PM at the home of Angie and Melvin Campbell, 4711 Johnson's Creek Road, Covington, VA. Everyone is encouraged to bring a covered dish and enjoy a time of fellowship. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, PO Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422 or to the Alleghany Humane Society, PO Box 60, Low Moor, VA 24457.
