Jewel "Judy" McDermott Davis, age 89, of 3203 Longdale Furnace Rd, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at her residence. She was born September 29, 1926 in Neola, West Virginia to the late Hugh Oswald and Sarah Mae "Sadie" Vess McDermott. She was an accounts manager for Alleghany Regional Hospital. She attended Grace Brethren Church in Covington, and dearly loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Walter Edgar Davis, Jr. of Clifton Forge; four daughters, Judith Lynn Jones and husband Eddie of Clifton Forge, Donna Dee Delong and husband Ed of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Andrea Renee Murry and husband Dan of Troutville, and Cherie Suzanne Allen and husband Ray of Clifton Forge; thirteen grandchildren, Landon Ray Allen and wife Tabatha, Jana Cherie Bahrns and husband Doug, Amber Suzanne Dean and husband Dwayne, Anmarie Rosalie Herald and husband Scott, Kyle Clayton Jones and wife Shannon, Clay Patrick Jones and wife Sarah, Weston Trey Jones, Anthony Stephen Neville, Stephanie Paige Cowan and husband Blaine, Sarah Lynn Neville, Olivia Jewel Anne Murry, Jadyn Annalee Murry, and Emily Anneliesse Murry; five great grandchildren, Bailey Neville, Uriah Dean, Sophia Allen, Eden Dean, and Gracyn Chandler; and special friends and caregivers, Brenda Lindsay and Diane Kouns, as well as the entire Mountain Regional Hospice staff. The family would like to give a very special "thank you" to Chaplain Bill Gilliland. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Dan Gillette officiating. A private interment will take place in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Weston Jones, Kyle Jones, Clay Jones, Dwayne Dean, Landon Allen, Scott Herald and Doug Bahrns. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
