Obituary for
Jane Goldberg
Elizabeth Jane Houck Goldberg, age 79, of 2221 Athol Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Friday, January 3, 2020 at her residence.
She was born February 3, 1940 in McAlpin, West Virginia to the late Mason Houck and Ruby Fitzgerald Houck. She was a retired unit secretary for Chesapeake &Ohio Hospital and worked as a lab assistant at Alleghany Regional Hospital. She was a member of the Board of Directors of Applefolks and member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Post 1033 VFW of Covington. Jane was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Victor Wayne Goldberg; three sisters, Sandra Leigh Jenkins, Anna Milani, and Janice Bruce; a brother, Dixon Houck; a granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Bryant; and a great grandson, Wyatt Givens.
She is survived by a daughter, Roxanna Bryant of Covington; three sons, Nathan Goldberg and wife Deborah of Iron Gate, Kenny Goldberg and Fiancée Sonya Campbell of Clifton Forge, and Keith Goldberg and wife Theresa of Eagle Rock; the father of her children, Norman Goldberg of Salem; four grandchildren, Mellissa Bryant, Victor Goldberg, Victoria Goldberg, and Keith Allen Goldberg II; two great grandchildren, Melody Bryant and Jeremiah Bryant; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Edith Snedegar and Mr. Shane Hiner officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Goldberg, Keith Goldberg, Kenny Goldberg, Scottie Averill, Eric Hill, and Eddie Mabry. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
